David Seyi Akanbi, Ph.D.


David Seyi Akanbi is an Adjunct Professor at the University of the District of Columbia, Washington DC, where he teaches discovery technology, emerging technologies, and multimedia technology. He is also a Senior eLearning Specialist supporting the Human Resources Branch, Office of Executive Director, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in Washington DC. Additionally, David is a member of the Board of Directors, Fix-Africa Development Foundation, Abuja, Nigeria. He is also the President of Cardinal University Foundation, USA, a non-profit organization that partners with universities across the globe toward the implementation of eLearning programs and initiatives that meet the 21st-century demands of effective distance education.

David has a master’s degree in Education, Learning and Technology from Western Governors’ University, USA, a master’s degree in Information Systems and Technology Management from Cappella University, USA, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ashworth College, USA. He also holds a graduate certificate in Human Capital Development and Productivity from Bellevue University, USA, and a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media and Web Technology from the University of Maryland, USA. Currently, David is holder of PhD in Human Capital Development from the University of Southern Mississippi, USA, where he is researching instructional technology, persuasive learning technology, and multimedia technology.  Dr. Akanbi is also a steadfast Facilitator in Niger Delta University, Institute of Continuing Education from the Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation, and Criminal Intelligence Management and Forensic Investigation Programmers.


David Akanbi is a certified IT consultant with over twelve years of professional experience in learning technology. He is a certified eLearning developer, a certified Adobe Captivate Specialist, a Certified Technical Trainer, and a member of the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD), USA. He is experienced in change management, knowledge management, instructional systems design, and multimedia technology. David is a change agent, hardworking, and innovative and has enormous skills, which include coaching and training, and have designed and developed performance improvement solutions and technical documents for many Fortune 500 companies.


David has developed instructional materials and high-level technical contents for the World Bank, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Lockheed Martin, and Edward Jones, among others. He committed to the progressive ideas for the good of humanity. He is family-oriented, enjoys innovations, academic research, and problem-solving. He is dedicated and very resourceful and enthusiastic about discovering a more practical technique to add values to organizations. He has excellent knowledge and skills in the hi-tech profession, and he is ardent about technological improvement in his area of expertise for the benefit of the higher institutions of learning and organizations.
